Behavioural Epidemiology and Interventions in Young People
Current work and interests
Kateryna is a third-year PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge, jointly based in the IMS Epidemiology and the Faculty of Education (PEDAL). Her research focuses on risky play within UK early childhood education and care settings. By collecting mixed-methods data, she aims to measure the frequency, duration and risk levels of risky play and identify the social and environmental affordances that shape it.
She is supervised by Dr Kathryn Hesketh (IMS Epidemiology), Prof Jenna Panter (IMS Epidemiology) and Prof Paul Ramchandani (Faculty of Education, PEDAL). This PhD project is funded by the Cam-DTP ESRC.
Background and experience
Prior to her PhD, Kateryna completed an MPhil in Population Health Sciences at the University of Cambridge and an MA in Early Years Education at the University College London. She also brings over a decade of professional experience as an early childhood practitioner across the UK, Ukraine and Colombia, including four years in senior leadership roles.
